Teaching English to Secondary School/University students

This two week course is aimed at non-native English teachers of secondary or University students.
The course aims to develop teachers in the following areas:

  • Broaden their understanding of different methodologies and consider their relevance to their own particular teaching environment.
  • Evaluate new materials and resources.
  • Develop their knowledge of the theories behind second language acquisition.
  • Share ideas and teaching experiences with their colleagues.
  • Develop their own English language ability.

Course Details

Each course contains sessions on materials and resources, different methodologies, second language acquisition, classroom management styles, task based learning, correction and the role of technology in the EFL classroom. Participants are also able to observe experienced teachers and carry out some observed teaching practice. In addition to this, there are language input sessions and all participants are provided with the opportunity to develop their language skills further by attending some of our English classes in the school.
